continued monopoly of the blog space...

We went to the water park near here today. Melanie completely loved it. She was a little unsure of things at first, but once she got started it was pretty fun to watch. So, since you couldn't watch it, here are some pictures:
Brittany had to help her at first.










But she quickly got the hang of things













She ran around the entire time with her mouth wide open, it was pretty funny.










She got brave after she got used to the water.

canoe trip

Alright, here are some canoe trip pictures.
First, Melanie saw me paddling, and wanted to help with her little plastic toys, so she would lean way over and help paddle.











We saw a bird, and were trying to figure out if it was an eagle or not, and we heard a splash. Melanie dove head first into the river, Brittany (with cat-like reflexes) grabbed her by the feet and pulled her back into the canoe. Here she is cuddling a little after that, not to happy about how cold the water was. Apparently not that shaken up though, because she cuddled for about 10 seconds, and then wanted to get back in the water.











While Brittany was plucking her from the depths of the river, she dropped her paddle. So, while we were waiting for our friends to go rescue it, I was playing in the river and caught a baby turtle. Melanie, having never seen a baby turtle before, decided the appropriate thing to do would be to give it a good bonk or two (maybe 3).










She loved playing in the river, and spent most of her time trying to throw all the sand on the beaches into the water.










This made her quite tired, and she took a nap in the canoe (cuddling with her sheep, like she always does)
